Plaza Towers Site Parent Involvement Policy

Plaza Towers Elementary

Title I Involvement Policy

2025-2026

Plaza Towers Elementary is committed to providing a quality education for every child and to establish strong partnerships with parents. Shared responsibility for high student performance, frequent communication, and ongoing parental involvement is an essential component for assuring academic success for our students.

Plaza Towers Elementary is required to have an annual parent meeting to inform parents of our school’s participation as a Title I site and to explain the rights of parents to be involved with their children’s education.  All parents will be invited and encouraged to attend our school-wide Title I meeting. Plaza Title I School-Wide policies, programs, services, and goals will be discussed at this meeting. Information about availability and start up dates of Title I programs/activities will be communicated to parents through our school calendar, Parent Portal, communication device apps, our school website and through special notes concerning these programs and activities. A description and explanation of the curriculum, Oklahoma Academic Standards, and assessments used to monitor student progress in each grade can be found at the state department or from the Title I Specialist, Chandra Stanfield. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend conferences with their child’s teacher in order to participate in decisions relating to the education of their child.  Parent Conferences are held in October and March of each school year.

A variety of parent involvement meetings will be planned to respond to parent needs and help strengthen the home-school partnership connection.  Meetings will be offered at various times to accommodate parent schedules so that each parent has the opportunity for maximum participation.

A School parent-Student Compact will be utilized to formally recognize the importance of working together as cooperative partners in the educational process.  It is our goal to enable each child to achieve the State’s high standards and reach his/her academic potential.

Communication between parents and teachers will be maintained on a continuing basis throughout the school year.   Parents are provided the opportunity and encouraged to attend conferences, receive reports on students’ academic progress, and results on individual assessments.  They will be made aware of school activities and news through the school calendar, communication device apps and special notes.  Through scheduled planned activities, parents will have reasonable access to staff and will be given the opportunity to volunteer, observe, and participate in classroom activities.

Parents, students, staff, and community leaders will be involved in planning, reviewing, and improving the programs and services offered under the Title I School-wide plan.  Parents will have an opportunity to present differing views to the district.  Needs assessment and program evaluation surveys will be conducted in the spring of each school year and will be utilized in conjunction with academic needs assessment to guide the revision of the plan for the following year.
